Childhood Dreams: Their Importance and How We Achieve Them

January 18, 2019-Second Blog Post

I believe Rand Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because he never pitied himself; he never acted as or saw himself as a victim, and was thereby better able to pursue his dreams and to believe in his own ability to accomplish. He knew it was all on him to make everything happen; he took responsibility for himself and the outcomes for his life. Once he did that, he was better able to see life as something that you make for yourself, and since he had high desires for his life, he pursued the good. He took the situation, circumstances, and cards he had been dealt, and he worked from there, never looking back or focusing on what he didn't have.

I feel that dreaming is very important. A dream is a goal that is greatly desired, something in which we feel a passion to pursue. We all know the importance of a goal, right? Goals help us to be meaningful in our actions to get us to where we want to be and go. When we have dreams, we are pursuing goals and things that bring us great joy; why not make meaningful steps and actions to pursue a joyful goal? Yes, dreaming is important.

My childhood dream has always been to become the best wife and mother I can become. I greatly desire to act and learn, and am already striving to act and learn, intentionally to become a wonderful wife and mother. I have some fears with this, however, as I have some health issues that make it so I may not be fertile to have my own children. I would adopt and do foster care instead if I am found to be infertile. In addition, my health makes it difficult for me to arise and walk, and to go out and do certain things at sometimes. This causes me to think that I won't be as good of a mother; however, I also know that being a wife and mother are my biggest purposes in this life according to the Lord, and I know that through Christ, I can and will be strengthened to do all things that He desires, and I will become the wife and mother needed for my future family.
